You are not on this journey alone!
Join us for information and open sharing as cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, and families of those affected by cancer get together for warm conversation and information sharing. Facilitated by Melisa, RN, we discuss cancer-related questions and concerns while gaining support, information, and resources from each other. This group is open to those affected by any type of cancer and in any phase of treatment and recovery.
Some months will feature a guest speaker on cancer/health related topics or complementary therapies.
The December meeting will feature a demonstration by Florida Music Therapy of Melbourne who will be providing bi-monthly, onsite Music Therapy classes for Complementary Cancer Care beginning in January! Multiple areas of wellbeing can be addressed through music therapy. Music therapy in cancer care can improve mood, decrease anxiety, improve physical gross and fine motor skills, support self-expression, enhanced communication, and process trauma. After the meeting, please join us at a local restaurant for a pay-your-way Holiday Celebration.
Cancer patients, survivors and caregivers benefit from the support of others with similar cancer experiences. Even though you may receive support from friends and family, joining a support group provides you with an opportunity to be with people who are likely to provide you with a profound understanding of what you are going through, because they have similar feelings, worries, everyday problems, treatment decisions, or treatment side effects.
