Cancer Caregiver Appreciation & Empowerment
This event will meet LIVE IN PERSON at Sunflower House, 777 Merritt Island Causeway, suite 201, Merritt Island (located in Merritt Square Mall next to JC Penney)
To support and honor our Cancer Caregivers, in recognition of National Family Caregiver Month!
11 am – 12:30 pm: Cancer Caregiver Support Group w/ Health Experts
Yoga therapist Lorien Neargarder will be demonstrating mindful breathing and movement techniques and show us how easy it is to incorporate this into our busy lives.
12 – 2 pm: Lunch available (please RSVP on our website or call)
1 – 2:30 pm: Holiday Card Printmaking Art Activity
Relax and let your creativity shine, as art instructor Nancy Bindig facilitates this creative festive project. Everyone will make an angel or a Christmas tree paper work of art that can be offset with a backing-colored art paper of your choice. Nancy will be providing a hand printed holiday original design for you to hand decorate by adding patterned decorations using opaque paint markers. Make it into a card to mail to someone special or frame it and give it as a gift! (Frame not provided, but everyone will get a large envelope). You will also have the opportunity to make holiday greeting cards with a positive note to cancer patients going through treatments over the holidays. Complementary Cancer Care will include in our “Blessings Bags” gifts of hope, comfort, and joy which will be delivered to patients at Cancer Care Centers and Health First.
