EXPRESSIVE WRITING GROUP: WRITE FOR YOUR LIFE!
This class will meet LIVE IN-PERSON at Rockledge Gardens.
Whatever your skill or comfort level, everyone has the capacity to write creatively and joyfully, which can help facilitate healing. In this Expressive Writing Group there will be no need for writing skills, no evaluation, no criticism.
This month’s expressive writing activity will prompt you to examine your core self and visualize a path to fulfill your most inner desires. You will then craft a vision board, a collage of words and pictures that represents your goals and dreams, to help activate the creative powers of your subconscious and motivate you to reach your goals. As a final ritual to commemorate the day, you will be invited to plant a flower to take home, a further symbol of the strengths you’ll harness to grow your vision of a fulfilled life.
Supplies: A small poster board, scissors, and glue sticks will be provided; a few magazines will be on hand for you to peruse and cut out images. However, please spend some time beforehand collecting images that you find inspiring and bring them with you – printed internet graphics/photos, personal photographs, favorite quotes, or anything that represents your values, hopes, and desires and will remind you to stay true to your authentic self and keep striving to create the life you envision.
Note: All participants must agree to follow the Covid-19 precautions outlined in the COVID POLICY
This group is available to anyone who has had a cancer diagnosis, regardless of when or what type, as well as caregivers.
Our group meets bi-monthly, except for the months of July and December.
